Historique de Locunolé
Locunolé vient de Loc-Gwénolé qui signifie Ermitage de Gwénolé (du breton 'Loc',lieu consacré, et de Saint-Guénolé).
En 1667, sur l'initiative de Louis XIV, Locunolé devient une paroisse du Diocèse de Cornouaille.
A la révolution de 1789, Locunolé devient une paroisse du Diocèse de Vannes (Morbihan).
Puis par décret impérial du 4 avril 1857, Locunolé redevient une commune du Finistère, rattachée au canton d'Arzano, et est agrandie par l'apport de plusieurs villages de la commune de Querrien.
Particularité : 2 clochers sur la même place, l'église St Gwénolé (1867) et la chapelle Notre Dame du Folgoët (1671)
